Please enjoy this recording of Aion's panel at Penny Arcade Expo 2009! It should be of noticeably higher quality than the previously uploaded medium-quality video.
The basic subject of the panel was the difficulties inherent in translating and deploying a game in North America and Europe that was originally developed in South Korea.
The first 100 people to enter the panel were invited to Aion's "launch party" in Seattle's Space Needle later that night. Videos and pictures from that event are currently processing and will be uploaded as soon as possible (Tuesday or Wednesday, most likely).
Official panel description:
"Friday 1:30pm - 2:30pm, Wolfman Theatre
Aion and the Evolution of the MMO genre
A major challenge facing MMOs today is that of wooing a global audience while remaining culturally relevant to all--delivering compelling gameplay and evolving a storyline that resonates with players around the world. Learn how NCsoft’s latest blockbuster MMO, Aion™, is addressing these challenges head on and helping to drive the evolution of the MMO genre. Key members of NCsoft’s Aion team will be on hand to talk and answer questions about the making of Aion and how it attempts to advance MMOs in a variety of areas including writing, emergent gameplay, and culturalization. We'll also be conducting a special giveaway for a select number of audience members to be revealed at the end of the panel; you don’t want to miss out on this opportunity!"

The translator seems to be lacking the charisma needed to sell an idea. Even the new instanced seemed to be brushed off as nothing more then meh... On the other hand, the writer turned even the most mundane tidbits into interesting ideas/facts so i guess it all evens out in the end haha.
